Cookie Policy
Last updated: 7 September 2026
The short version: QuoteStash doesn't use cookies.
We don't set any cookies for authentication, preferences, advertising, or tracking. That's why you won't see a cookie consent banner when you use QuoteStash — under privacy law, consent banners are required before non-essential cookies (or similar tracking technology) are set, and we don't set any.
1. What we use instead
A couple of things are worth being transparent about, even though they aren't cookies:
Local storage (on your device only)
QuoteStash stores two small pieces of information in your browser's local storage — not a cookie, and never sent to our servers:
- quotestash-theme — remembers whether you prefer light, dark, or auto theme.
- Your Supabase login session — keeps you signed in between visits, so you don't have to log in every time.
Both are strictly necessary for QuoteStash to function as intended, stay on your device, and are cleared if you clear your browser's site data or log out.
Vercel Web Analytics
We use Vercel Web Analytics to see aggregate usage of QuoteStash (like which pages get visited). It's a cookieless analytics product — it doesn't set cookies, doesn't use persistent device identifiers, and can't be used to track you individually across visits or websites. There's nothing to opt out of because there's nothing being stored on your device by it.
2. No third-party advertising or tracking cookies
We don't embed advertising networks, social media widgets, or third-party trackers that would set cookies on your device.
3. If this ever changes
If we ever introduce cookies or similar tracking technology that requires your consent, we'll update this page and add a consent banner before doing so — not after.
